Duration

Working alongside Morrisroe Construction Ltd as part of the mixed use development at City Road, our work featured the construction of a 110 metre perimeter cantilever secant piled wall to form a double level basement for car parking and plant rooms, as well as 270 no. bearing piles to support the superstructure.

CFA: Pile Installation

Work was undertaken using our 100 ton Soilmec SR-95 high-torque multi-discipline piling rig using continuous flight auger (CFA) techniques. Piles were installed to depths of 32 metres.

We also designed the piles in-house in collaboration with the client and their structural engineers. Our work was sequenced to suit the phased release of areas and involved the installation of secant piles from a high-level platform and the relocation of plant and equipment to lower basement levels to install the bearing piles.

Restricted Access: Mini Piling

To allow us to tie into perimeter secant piles previously installed by others, we mobilised a Klemm 709 specialist restricted access mini piling rig. This also allowed us to construct the piles within the constrained areas adjacent to existing structures and carry out restricted access mini piling where there was low headroom for tower cranes.
